# Privacy Policy — RecommendAnime **Effective date:** April 9, 2026 **Developer:** MayRain Software (`com.mayrainsoftware.recommendanime`) This Privacy Policy describes how the RecommendAnime mobile application (“App”) processes personal and device data on **iOS** (Apple App Store) and **Android** (Google Play). By using the App, you agree to the practices summarized here. We may update this policy from time to time; the current version will always be published on this page or at the address we specify. For Google Play, this policy URL is also provided in the Play Console as required by Google. --- ## 1. Data we collect or process The App may process data in the categories below to provide features and meet legal obligations. ### 2.1 App usage and device information - Technical information such as app version, operating system, language, and region preferences. - Crash and error reports (e.g. stack traces, device model, OS version) — see Section 4. - Aggregated usage and event data — see Sections 3 and 4. ### 2.2 Advertising and marketing (may involve tracking) The App may show ads through **Google AdMob** (e.g. banner, interstitial, rewarded, and app open ads). **Ad mediation** may cause additional ad networks to load and serve ads; those partners may process identifiers and interaction data for ad delivery, personalization where allowed, and measurement. - **Android:** The **Google Advertising ID** (or successor identifiers under Google Play policies) may be used for ads and measurement, subject to your device and in-app choices. **Google UMP (User Messaging Platform)** or similar consent flows may be used where required (e.g. EEA/UK) to manage ad and privacy preferences, consistent with [Google Play’s ads and data policies](https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/10787469). You can limit ad personalization in Android settings (e.g. **Ads** / **Google Ads** personalization) where available. - **iOS:** The scope of tracking may depend on your choices under Apple’s **App Tracking Transparency (ATT)**; **Google UMP** may also be used to manage ad and privacy preferences. ### 2.3 Purchases and subscriptions Premium features are offered through platform billing: - **Apple App Store (StoreKit)** on iOS — Apple processes payments; we do not store your full card details. Apple processes transaction and subscription-related information under its own [privacy policy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). - **Google Play** on Android — purchases and subscriptions are processed by **Google Play Billing**; we do not store your full card details. Google processes payment and subscription-related information under the [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) and related Google Play terms. ### 2.4 Optional cloud backup (Dropbox) You may back up your anime lists to your **Dropbox** account or restore them from there. When you use this feature, backup files are stored on Dropbox’s servers and Dropbox’s [privacy policy](https://www.dropbox.com/privacy) applies. Data is sent to Dropbox only when you initiate this flow. ### 2.5 Network and content The App may communicate with our servers or third-party APIs for recommendations and catalog features. Standard network logs (such as IP addresses) may be processed technically by the relevant service providers during that communication. --- ## 3. Purposes of processing We use data to: - Operate the App, deliver features, and maintain security. - Detect errors and improve performance (e.g. crash reporting). - Show ads and measure ad effectiveness (subject to permissions, consent where required, and your choices). - Verify subscriptions and premium access via **Apple** and/or **Google Play** as applicable. - Perform optional Dropbox backup and restore when you request it. - Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights. --- ## 4. Legal bases and regions - **EEA / UK:** Processing may rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement), consent (for ads/tracking or optional features), or legal obligation. - **Turkey (KVKK):** You have rights regarding personal data processed by us as data controller, including information, correction, erasure, and objection; contact us at the address in Section 1. --- ## 6. Retention We retain data for as long as needed for the purposes described and as required by law. Analytics and crash data are often subject to configurable retention in third-party dashboards. Backups in Dropbox depend on your Dropbox account and any in-app deletion options you use. --- ## 7. Security We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data; no transmission over the internet or mobile environment is 100% secure. --- ## 8. Children The App is not designed for young children. However, children may use the App under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the minimum age in your country). Parents should use **parental controls** and store restrictions (including **Google Play** and **Apple** family/parental settings where available) on their children’s devices. --- ## 9. Your rights and choices - **Android:** Manage ad personalization and related settings in your device and Google account settings; use in-app consent or preference screens where shown.
